For us in the Netherlands this has been the coldest winter in years and I can't remember when we had so much snow. How is winter for you guys?

Hello Wenslauw,

It has been cold and snowy here. I think we have been spoiled with the warm winters in recent years. It is not nice for those who have suffered as a result but I have enjoyed the cold weather, much better than the grey, lifeless days we often get and which we have here today. Let's hope the forum stays alive as there are very few interesting threads currently on the other one. For some reason I can't even get into the chatroom now. I hope you are keeping well and may I wish all our dedicated readers a Happy New Year, even though it is February!

I went to a local second hand store today and was given two air conditioners since they say it's going to be over 100 degrees in April/May here in Needles. (I knew I'd be responsible to get my own air conditioners when I moved in, but I never planned on buying any since I was moving the end of May.)
But I got these for free, so that's great. Of course, it was about 65F today, so it's still winter weather. hehe

It's been a very mild winter here in Maine - hasn't snowed in 3 weeks, and what we did have on the ground is melted, except for where it was plowed up. Portland has had to cancel a winter festival scheduled this weekend in one of the parks due to "lack of snow." Arlington, and DC metro area, on the other hand, have had record amounts of snow, ice, and cold - something like 4 feet of snow has fallen in less than a week. We picked a good year to leave! They do NOT know how to deal with winter weather there, even just 3 or 4 inches, and as someone accustomed to lots of snow, it always irritated me... :-)
